How to help

Support Charities

Pope Francis began the world-wide campaign "Share the Journey” in order to promote a culture of encounter with the aim of increasing the spaces and opportunities for "strangers" and communities to come together and learn about each other.

There’s an old saying: “Don’t judge someone until you have walked a mile in his or her shoes.” When we take the time to listen and to understand, we see others as brothers and sisters. Instead of “us” and “them,” it’s “we.” Instead of asking “why are you here?,” we ask “How can I help?”

And there are many ways to help: pray; volunteer; be an advocate; give a donation. Whatever we do, we remember first and foremost that God wants us to share the love we have received with everyone we meet: “You must not mistreat or oppress foreigners in any way. Remember, you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt” (Exodus 22:21).
